Vol. 59 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Ballinspittal Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if representations have been made to him respecting the acquisition and division of the lands of the Franks Estate, Ballinspittal; if he will state by what body such representations were made; and on behalf of whom; and if it is the intention of the Minister to take any action in the matter.

The Deputy's question appears to refer to the Franks Estate, Record No. U. 2138, comprising lands of Garretstown and Kilmore.

Representations have been made at various times for the acquisition and division, by the Land Commission, of this estate. It is not the practice to furnish the names of persons or bodies who make representations to the Land Commission in regard to estates, nor the nature of such representations, but every application is treated on its merits and duly considered. The question of the acquisition of the Franks Estate is under consideration by the Land Commission, but no decision has yet been made as to its suitability for their purposes.
