asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if, in view of the size and population of the West Cork public health area, he will undertake that the grant proposed to be allocated, under the contemplated hospital scheme, to the improvement and better equipment of the public hospitals in that area, shall be increased commensurate with the needs of the area.

In determining the grant from the Hospitals Trust Fund towards the improvement and equipment of hospitals in the West Cork area, all the relevant circumstances will be taken into consideration. At present no undertaking can be given as to the amount which it will be deemed advisable to grant.
