asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the number of houses (in respect of which subsidies are payable) completed and in progress during the year ended 31st March, 1936, segregating these according to whether they are being built by (a) private persons and public utility societies, and (b) local authorities; and further if he will state the average number of persons employed monthly on housing schemes carried out by local authorities during each of the quarters ended 30th June, 1935, 30th September, 1935, 31st December, 1935, and 31st March, 1936.

The average number of persons employed monthly on housing schemes carried out by Local Authorities during each of the quarters ended 30th June, 1935; 30th September, 1935; 31st December, 1935, and the 31st March, 1936, was 7,211; 6,882; 6,062 and 5,588, respectively.
