Vol. 65 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Letting of Labourers' Cottages in Laoighis.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he received complaints recently from or on behalf of original applicants for labourers' cottages in the Durrow and Mountmellick areas, protesting against the letting of cottages by the Laoighis Board of Health to persons previously residing in adjoining counties, whether it is the policy of the Department to sanction or encourage such lettings while original and other deserving applicants are living in condemned houses in the county and electoral areas where the new cottages have been erected.

The only complaints received are those of which the Deputy is aware from recent correspondence with the Department. The reply to the second part is in the negative.
