Vol. 67 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Athboy Estate.

Mr. Hogan

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is now in a position to state if the lands at Drissoge, Athboy, the property of the representatives of the late Ledwith, will be acquired in the near future; whether he is aware that 25 applicants, natives of Meath, have submitted applications for holdings on these lands, and if it is his intention to provide holdings for these local applicants when the lands are divided.

Mr. Boland

Representations from the applicants to which the Deputy refers have been received, in respect of the lands of Drissoge, Stocks, Otterstown, and Mullaghstones, in the occupation of Catherine Ledwith. The Land Commission propose to have inquiries made to ascertain the suitability of these lands for acquisition and division, but at the present stage it is not possible to anticipate a decision.
