Vol. 69 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ennistymon Waterworks Caretaker.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what is the position regarding the appointment of a caretaker on the Ennistymon waterworks, and if he has considered the recommendations of the Clare County Council on the matter.

A caretaker of this waterworks was appointed by the Clare Board of Health and Public Assistance on 12th April, 1937, and the sanction of the Minister was sought to the appointment. The advertisement issued by the board in connection with the position included a condition that the person appointed must have plumbing experience. Evidence of the qualifications of the person appointed has not been submitted by the board of health although specific requests have been made to them to do so. I do not appear to have received any recommendations from the Clare County Council.

The words should be "county engineer"—not "county council."
