Vol. 71 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Éire Minister to Spain.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state where the Minister of Éire accredited to Spain is at present residing, and if any decision has been arrived at on the question of accrediting that Minister to the Government set up by General Franco.

The Irish Minister to Spain is residing in St. Jean de Luz, where he is able to keep in touch with Irish citizens in any part of Spain.

With regard to the second part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to a similar question by him on the 14th December last, namely, that, with the great majority of European States, we believe that in the existing condition it is in the interests of general peace and peace in Spain to continue to adhere to the non-intervention policy.
