Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Newspaper Advertising.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount paid for Government advertising for the year 1937 to each of the four Waterford newspapers Standard, News, Star and Munster Express.

The amounts were: Waterford Standard, £32 12s. 3d.; Waterford News (including the Evening News), £143 7s. 6d.; Waterford Star, £30 3s. 0d.; Munster Express, £26 16s. 0d.

Who decides what paper an advertisement will be sent to?

In general, we are guided by the advice of our advertising agents as to which paper will give the best return for money expended.
