Vol. 73 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business as on the Order Paper Nos. 1 to 13, omitting No. 11; No. 7 will be taken after No. 12. Public business will not be interrupted at 9 o'clock to take Private Deputies' business, but if and when all stages of the various measures, as ordered, are completed, the remainder of the time will be devoted to the adjournment motion. If all the business, as ordered, is completed, the Dáil will adjourn this evening until Wednesday, 8th February, 1939.

Is it intended to fix any minimum time for the adjournment motion?

I anticipate there will be sufficient time.

I should like to point out that there was an understanding on every occasion when the adjournment motion was taken that there would be a minimum period of time inside which the discussion could be carried on.

I think the Deputy will find that there will be ample time for discussion.

The Chair has received notice that the matter to be discussed by the main Opposition (on the adjournment) is "the failure of the Government's economic policy."

It will serve as a nice standing warning to some of the boys over there.
