Vol. 79 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Power Lawlor Estate (Tipperary).

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what steps have been taken by the Land Commission to acquire the Power Lawlor estate, Longorchard, Templetuohy, Templemore, County Tipperary; if he will state the cause of the delay in bringing the case before the Land Court, and whether, with a view to the relief of the acute congestion which exists in the district, the Minister will expedite the division of this estate.

The Land Commission have instituted proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Longorchard in the occupation of Mrs. Power Lawlor and also for the acquisition of the parcels disposed of by Mrs. Power Lawlor to other parties. Objections to the acquisition of the lands have been lodged and are pending for hearing. These objections will as far as possible be given priority as of the date of their lodgment. Owing to legal difficulties of procedure the cases were held up pending the enactment of the Land Act, 1939.
