Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Waterford Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire for division the following estates in County Waterford: (1) the Hayden estate at Coolnamuck; (2) the Foley estate at Ballygally, Glencairn; (3) the Simpson estate at Glenmore, Glencairn, and (4) the James Murphy estate, Ahainboy North.

(1) The Land Commission instituted proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Coolnamuck demesne and Coolnamuck East on the Hayden estate. The owner requisitioned a holding in exchange and the matter has not yet been finally dealt with.

(2) and (3) The Land Commission have no proceedings in hands for the acquisition of the lands of Ballygally on the Foley estate, nor in respect of the Simpson estate at Glenmore, Glencairn.

(4) The Land Commission are in possession, by order of the court, of the holding at Ahainboy North, formerly in the occupation of James Murphy, and the question of its disposal is under consideration.
