Precise statistics are not yet available in regard to the acquisition and division of untenanted land during the financial year ended 31st March, 1941; but in round figures during that year in County Kildare about 3,500 acres were acquired and 730 acres divided, and in County Carlow 370 acres were acquired and 360 acres divided. The corresponding figures for the year ended 31st March, 1940, were:—In County Kildare 2,800 acres acquired and 1,015 acres divided, and in County Carlow 270 acres acquired and 282 acres divided.
