Owing to the necessity of conserving existing stocks of rubber as far as possible for the manufacture of tyres for heavy transport, the amount of rubber which it has been possible to allocate for cycle tyres and tubes is comparatively small. It is hoped, however, that this year and next year approximately 25 per cent. of a normal year's supply of tyres will be available and this will be distributed among cycle dealers in proportion to their 1940 turnover.
