Vol. 87 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Workers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether a decision has yet been arrived at regarding the increase in wages of forestry workers in view of the increased cost of living; and, if so, whether it has been decided to grant an increase in the wages of the workers concerned.

The wages of labourers are being increased as from the 27th instant by 2/- per week at all forestry centres except two. The wages hitherto paid at these two centres have been above the average, and the further increases now approved for them are 6d. and 1/6 per week respectively.

The additional remuneration of 2/- per week at present paid to a selected number of expert labourers will continue to be paid to them.
