Vol. 89 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Central Bank Board.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the names of the several persons appointed to the Board of the Central Bank, the salary, allowances and emoluments payable and the conditions of service and the terms of appointment in each case.

The names of the several persons appointed to the Board of the Central Bank are as follows:—

Governor: Joseph Brennan.

Directors: Gabriel Brock, David D. Coyle, The Rt. Hon. Lord Glenavy, James J. McElligott, William O'Brien, John F. Punch, Timothy A. Smiddy, Malachi Sweetman.

The remuneration, allowances and conditions of service of the Governor are such as shall from time to time be determined by the board, and I have no function in relation thereto. The remuneration, etc., of directors is fixed by me and, while the matter has not yet been finally settled, it will probably be the same as obtained for the Currency Commission.

What was that?

£500 a year.
