asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that great inconvenience is caused to farmers and others in the locality as a result of no coal being made available to Fennelly's Mill, Garrymaddock, Stradbally, County Laoighis; if he is further aware that this mill engages in the conversion of oats into oatmeal for human consumption; and, if so, if he will grant a permit for the purchase of coal in this case.

In replies to recent similar questions, I have indicated that, in the present difficult circumstances in regard to coal supplies, I cannot see my way to make coal available generally to commission millers for the drying of grain. The only exception is in the case of oats intended for conversion into oatmeal for human consumption, where it is satisfactorily established that the use of turf is impracticable.
