It is proposed to take business in the following order :—Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. It is proposed, I understand, to take Private Deputies' motion No. 4 (on list 3) in the name of Deputy M. O'Sullivan and one of his colleagues relating to tuberculosis in conjunction with item No. 3 on the Order Paper—that is, the Tuberculosis (Establishment of Sanatoria) Bill, 1945. I understand that course has been agreed to by the Deputies concerned. In view of that, Private Deputies' time will not be given tonight.
Order of Business.
Can the Tánaiste say if it is proposed, in view of present train arrangements, that the House should sit on Friday of this week?
That will be for the House to decide. It will depend on the dispatch of business. In all probability, the House will sit on Friday.
As regards the procedure relative to item No. 3 on the Order Paper with which it is proposed to take the Private Deputies' motion, only one motion can be before the House at the time, and that is No. 3 on the Order Paper. The Private Deputies' Motion No. 4 (on list 3) may be discussed concurrently with the Second Stage of the Bill. When a decision has been taken on the Second Stage of that measure, the Deputies who have tabled Motion No. 4 (on list 3) may get a decision on their motion if they so desire. It will be formally moved as soon as the Second Stage of the Bill is disposed of, and a division will be given, if desired, without further discussion.
