Vol. 95 No. 14

Public Business. - Supplementary Estimate—Leave to Introduce.

I move that leave be given by Dáil Eireann to introduce the following Supplementary Estimate for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1945, namely:— Vote No. 12 (State Laboratory).

On a point of order, this Supplementary Estimate was only handed to us when we came into the House 25 minutes ago.

The Deputy will understand that this is only a motion for leave to introduce. The Supplementary Estimate is not being discussed or voted on to-day.

But surely even in the case of a motion for leave to introduce, we ought to have had it for at least a day. It ought to have reached us by post.

Technically, it should not be printed until leave to introduce had been given, but that has been dispensed with by general agreement.

Leave granted.

When is it proposed to take the Supplementary Estimate?

If the Deputy wishes we can leave it over until this day week. If not, we may take it on Thursday or Friday.

Is there any objection to taking it to-morrow?

It can be set down for to-morrow, and if Deputies have any objections they can make them then.

Ordered: That the Supplementary Estimate be taken to-morrow.
