asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has received an application from certain persons, who are employed in a sandpit on the Curragh Camp by the Army Corps of Engineers, for the refund of "wet time" contributions which were irregularly paid by them; and, if so, if he is in a position to state if and when a refund will be made to the employees concerned.

Mr. Corish (for Mr. Norton)
I presume that the Deputy's question refers to applications received in my Department from certain carters, road labourers and a roads foreman whose duties included work at a sandpit at the Curragh Camp, for a refund of "wet-time" contributions paid in error. If so, the position is that the employments referred to were ruled non-insurable under the "Wet-Time" Act, and refunds of the contributions legally refundable to them, in accordance with the provisions of Section 23 of the Act, have been made to the employees concerned.
