Vol. 97 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bran and Pollard Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that grave dissatisfaction exists among farmers and merchants regarding the distribution of bran and pollard and that supplies of these essential commodities have got into the hands of persons and firms who are now offering them to the public at excessive prices; and, if so, if he will indicate what action he intends to take to prevent this practice.

As regards arrangements for the distribution of bran and pollard, I have nothing to add to what I have already said in my reply to the Deputy's question of 31st January last. If the Deputy will furnish me with particulars of the persons and firms offering bran and pollard to the public at excessive prices I will have the matter investigated, with a view to seeing whether they should be deprived of any further supplies.
