Vol. 97 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare and Meath County Council Officers.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether he has received any proposals or scheme for the reorganisation of the officers employed by the Kildare County Council; and, if so, on what date; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

Proposals for the reorganisation of the clerical staff of Kildare County Council were received on the 10th instant. They involved the grading of the staff into four staff officers, three grade I clerical officers, 12 grade II clerical officers and the employment of additional typists. Sanction issued on the 22nd instant to the appointment of one additional staff officer bringing the total of this grade up to three, the grading of three clerks as grade I clerical officers and the employment of six additional typists. The remainder of the proposals are under consideration.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether he has received any proposals or scheme for the reorganisation of the officers employed by the Meath County Council; and, if so, on what date; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

There have been informal discussions in my Department with the county manager on proposals for staff reorganisation in the county council office, but no definite proposals have so far been officially submitted for my approval.
