asked the Minister for Education if he will make a return showing the names of the schools, with the roll number and county in each case, from which no application had been received for a heating and cleaning grant on account of the year ended 31st March, 1945.
Written Answers. - Schools—Heating and Cleaning Grant.
The number of schools for which heating and cleaning grants have been paid up to the present in respect of the financial year ended 31st March, 1945, is 4,500. Grants have not been paid in the case of 450 schools for which claims have not yet been furnished. Claims will, no doubt, be received in a considerable number of these cases before the end of the financial year. In the circumstances, I do not consider that any useful purpose would be served at this stage by giving the further detailed particulars required.
