asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, having regard to the improved supplies position, the straitened means of some of the traders concerned, and the inability of these traders to dispose of their premises resulting in their being unable to support their families, he intends to restore the licences to those traders whose licences were revoked following conviction for breaches of the Emergency Powers Orders.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restoration of Traders' Licences.
Licences are revoked only in the cases of traders convicted of serious breaches of the rationing and price-control regulations which establish that they are unfit, in present conditions, to be entrusted with the distribution of commodities in short supply. I am not prepared to restore licences to such traders.
