Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disposal of Standing Commercial Timber.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state, in terms of cubic feet or money values, the amount of standing commercial timber disposed of by the Forestry Division of his Department in each of the years 1940 to 1944, inclusive, and the quantities sold in each year to saw millers in (1) Dublin; (2) Cork; (3) Limerick; (4) Waterford; (5) Galway, and (6) other places.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which will be published in the Official Report.

In some cases the firms concerned use only portable mills and convert the timber on the site. In these instances the registered offices of the firms are taken as their addresses but it will be understood that much of the timber may never reach the towns in question.
