The public assistance district is not in every case coterminous with the county health district, and it is not possible to set out separately the staff engaged on public assistance in county health districts. The following statement gives the numbers employed in public assistance districts. A further statement is appended showing the number of public health nurses authorised or appointed in the several counties and county boroughs for public health purposes.
