Vol. 99 No. 1

Written Answers. - Appointment of Doctors and Nurses.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of each county health district, the number of doctors and nurses appointed or authorised for the central and institutional services of the county.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of each county borough, the number of doctors and nurses appointed or authorised for the central and institutional services of the county borough.

Most of the institutional services of the county are under the control of the public assistance authorities. The public assistance district is not in every case coterminous with the county health district and it is not possible to set out separately the number of doctors and nurses appointed or authorised in the county health districts. Neither is it possible for the same reasons to segregate the staff applicable to county boroughs solely. The following statement gives the numbers employed in public assistance districts in the several counties and county boroughs.
