Since petrol was made available for private motor cars in November last, a few complaints have been received by the Gárda Síochána alleging that private motor cars are carrying passengers for reward. These complaints have been investigated, but evidence to support a prosecution has been obtained in only one case. Appropriate proceedings are being taken in that case.
