asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state in respect of (i) superphosphate, (ii) nitrate of ammonia, and (iii) compound fertilisers: (a) the quantities delivered to or available for merchants on 20th March, 1946, and (b) the corresponding quantities on 20th March, 1945.

I am informed that the details sought by the Deputy are not yet available. The latest returns of deliveries of artificial fertilisers are for the period ended the 13th March. With your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, these figures and the comparable figures for 1945 will be circulated with the Official Reports.

The particulars are as follows:—

Will the Minister say whether the position is better or worse than this time 12 months?

The amount delivered to merchants is higher this year than last year.

And the amount available for delivery?

I think the amount available eventually will not be much higher than last year.
