asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware of the practice whereby some licensed bookmakers limit, in advance of the events and irrespective of the officially declared starting prices at which winners are returned in such events, the amounts of the odds which they will pay on double events, to the detriment of winning backers; and, if so, if he will state whether he intends to take any action to discourage the practice or to make it illegal.
