Vol. 100 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Installation of Telephones in County Kilkenny.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether it is feasible, in existing supply conditions, to instal a telephone at Hugginstown Post Office, County Kilkenny.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has investigated the practicability of installing a telephone a Coolcullen Post Office, County Kilkenny; and, if so, if he will say whether it is his intention to connect that office with the telephone service.

With the permission of An Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Numbers 28 and 29 together.

As I have already stated on a number of occasions it is the intention to instal a telephone call office in every Post Office which has not one at present. Call offices will, therefore, be provided at Coolcullen and Hugginstown Post Offices in due course. I cannot say at this stage whether the cases of Coolcullen and Hugginstown, both of which will involve heavy construction work, will be included in this year's programme.

Will the Minister say if that includes every post office of any class?
