The number of schools staffed entirely by lay teachers in which the number of pupils in average attendance for the calendar year ended 31st December, 1945, was 450 or over is as follows:—Boys' schools, nine; girls' schools, one.
asked the Minister for Education the number of religious, (a) men and (b) women, engaged as members of the recognised staffs in convent and monastery schools; and the number in each class respectively who have completed a two years' course of training.
The numbers of religious, (a) men and (b) women, engaged as members of the recognised staff in convent and monastery schools (capitation and classification) on 31st March, 1946, were as follows (a) men, 635; (b) women, 1,890. Of these, the following had completed a two-year course of training (a) men, 365; (b) women, 1,059.
