Vol. 101 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Meath Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the Murdock estate, Crossdrum, Oldcastle, County Meath, for division among the uneconomic holders in the area; if he is aware that this estate may be sold privately at an early date; and whether, in these circumstances, he will have immediate steps taken for its acquisition.

The Land Commission have no proceedings in hands for the acquisition of the Murdock estate—lands of Baltrasna—County Meath, and are not in a position to initiate such proceedings at the moment, nor is it their intention to interfere in the matter of a private sale of the lands, if such should be contemplated. Change of ownership will not affect their powers of acquiring land.
