Vol. 101 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Louth Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will consider the acquisition and division amongst uneconomic holders of the Dolan estate, comprising about 300 acres, at Walshestown, Dunleer, County Louth.

In present circumstances, the Land Commission are not in a position to take any action for the acquisition and division of the Dolan estate at Walshestown, or any portion thereof.

Is the Minister aware that this is one estate on which the last inheritor has died and that, therefore, its acquisition for division would impose no hardship on anyone? I can supply the Minister with the names and addresses of 86 uneconomic holders in this and the adjacent parish. I think that this is a question to which the Minister ought to give favourable consideration.

Mr. Boland

I shall draw the Minister's attention to the matter.

Representations have been made to me also in this matter, and I should be glad if the Minister would look into it.
