Vol. 101 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Transplants.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether, at the end of the last planting season, the Forestry Division of his Department had on hands a quantity of transplants surplus to their requirements; and, if so, how much surplus was disposed of.

Mr. Boland

At the end of the last planting season there was a small surplus of plants on hands. Three hundred and seventy thousand of these plants were sold to the nursery trade to meet demands made on the Department by the trade. The balance were lined out again in the State nurseries.
