The quantity of coal mined in Ireland in 1945 was 210,859 tons. Statistics of the quantity of coal sold are not available. The average price realised for coal sold will not be available until the returns for the Census of Industrial Production for 1945 have been compiled. The average number of men employed in 1945 was 1,772. These figures are to be regarded as provisional and subject to amendment. Figures for individual collieries cannot be divulged.
