asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the Land Commission carried out a rearrangement scheme at Lagcurragh, Swinford, County Mayo, on the D'Arcy Estate, in 1939; if he is further aware that the Land Commission undertook to the tenants, at that time, to have the resettled lands fenced, but that they have not carried out their undertaking; and if he will state if the Land Commission are now prepared to carry out the necessary fencing in accordance with their undertaking.

A rearrangement of holdings at Lagcurragh was carried out in June, 1940, but the transfer of staff from the Land Commission to other Departments during the emergency, made it impossible to implement the scheme in full. The question of necessary improvement works is at present under investigation and a decision will be taken as soon as possible.
