Vol. 103 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Residence Permits in Northern Ireland.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he is aware that Irish citizens, born in Northern Ireland, who were not resident there on 1st January, 1940, are required to obtain a residence permit, from the Government of Northern Ireland, before being permitted to resume residence there; and if he will make representations with a view to having this onerous restriction removed.

I am aware of the fact stated in the question, and I would refer the Deputy to the replies I gave to the parliamentary question and supplementary questions on this subject in the Dáil on the 15th November last.

And then we are a republic.
