Vol. 103 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of Castlebar Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission now propose to rearrange and divide the lands in the townland of Liter, Islandeady, Castlebar; if he is further aware that such proposed rearrangement scheme will be useless to the tenants concerned unless the river flowing through these lands is deepened and cleaned, as most of the lands concerned are continually flooded; and if he will accordingly order the deepening of this river as part of the rearrangement scheme.

Mr. Boland

The rearrangement and distribution of land in the townland of Letter, Islandeady, is under consideration by the Land Commission, but no question of flooding has arisen in this connection. If the Deputy furnishes further particulars I shall endeavour to let him know the exact position.
