asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of officers and other ranks, serving in the Army, on each of the following dates:—1st April, 1925; 1st April, 1930; 1st April, 1938; and 1st April, 1946.

The number of officers and other ranks serving in the Army on each of the following dates was as follows:—

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the total cost of pay and allowances, to officers and other ranks, together with that of civil servants and civilian employees, which fell to be borne on the Army Vote, for each of the following years:— 1925-26; 1930-31; and 1937-38; and also the estimated cost of above for the year 1946-47.
