Vol. 103 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Valuations of Farms and Buildings.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total rateable valuation of (i) agricultural land; (ii) farmers' dwellings; (iii) farm workers' dwellings; and (iv) farm out-offices.

The records of the Valuation Office do not distinguish between agricultural land and other land nor between farm buildings and other buildings. Neither is any distinction made for valuation purposes between farmers' dwellings, farm workers' dwellings or farm out-offices; all premises on a farm are ordinarily valued as one unit under the heading of "buildings".

For the Deputy's information, I might add that at 1st March, 1946, the total valuation of land was £7,092,563 and of buildings £5,072,906.
