Vol. 105 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Santry Sanatorium Sewerage.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state the cause of the stoppage of work on the laying of the sewerage system for the sanatorium at Santry; and when he expects the work to be restarted there.

Work under the site development contract for the regional sanatorium at Santry Court has been suspended pending consideration of the advisability of proceeding with the establishment of the sanatorium on this site. A decision on this matter will be reached at an early date.

What does the Minister mean by "an early date"? It is over two years since the Bill was rushed through the Oireachtas and so far they have not laid even the sewerage pipes.

Certain circumstances arose which prevented the work being proceeded with. "An early date" now means, say, within a month.

Fair enough.
