Vol. 105 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reciprocal Insurance Arrangements.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is now in a position to state what, if any, progress has been made in regard to the negotiations with the British Government concerning reciprocal arrangements for the purpose of the Unemployment Insurance Acts, in respect of civilian workers; and whether he will state if the negotiations for this purpose cover the position of civilian workers repatriated from Northern Ireland.

In regard to the first part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the answer given on the 29th January last to a question on the same subject asked by Deputy A. Byrne.

In regard to the second part of the question, I am not in a position to state whether any arrangement for reciprocity which it may be found possible to make with Great Britain will extend to Northern Ireland.
