asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that Mr. Canning, Ballylahan, Foxford, County Mayo, and Mr. Thomas Ryan, Ballinisland, Foxford, County Mayo (Palmer estate), are in possession of large farms of land; and if he will have these farms inspected, with a view to acquiring portion of each for the relief of the congestion which exists in the locality.

The Land Commission are in negotiation with Mr. Canning with a view to arranging an exchange of land, if possible.
Mr. Thomas Ryan's farm, containing 94 acres, is the subject of inquiry by the Land Commission and the Deputy's representations have been noted.
