asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that Mr. Patrick Mellett, Ballyshignadaune, Ballinrobe, County Mayo, is in possession of 35 acres of untenanted land; that Mr. Martin Flannery, Cavinquarter, Ballinrobe, County Mayo, is in possession of 50 acres of untenanted land; and if he will take steps to acquire these lands for redistribution among the uneconomic landholders of the locality.

The holding of Mr. Patrick Mellett, containing 32 acres, is at present the subject of consideration by the Land Commission. I am informed that a decision will be taken as soon as practicable. Mr. Martin Flannery is the occupier of 21 acres in the townland of Cavinquarter and some 39 acres in the townland of Killosheheen. There are no acquisition proceedings contemplated in respect of that land.
