Vol. 111 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilrush Bus Facilities.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will direct Córas Iompair Eireann to provide a morning bus from Kilrush to Limerick during the summer period.

I am informed by Córas Iompair Éireann that Kilrush is served by the morning bus from Kilkee to Limerick, which passes through Kilrush at 9.10 a.m.

Is the Minister aware that during the summer months, and especially during the tourist season, the bus which leaves Kilkee in the morning is always packed and cannot possibly provide accommodation for the people in Kilrush? I would ask the Minister to look into that aspect of the question.

I am aware of that. As a matter of fact, I made that point myself to Córas Iompair Éireann, and they have assured me that, if buses become available, they will put an additional bus at the disposal of the Kilrush people during the busy season.
