Vol. 112 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the acute congestion that exists in the Cloonkeen, Dunmore, Deering estate, County Galway; and if, in view of the fact that the Land Commission have a considerable amount of land on hands there which is sub-let year after year, he will now arrange for the subdivision of these lands at an early date.

The lands on the hands of the Land Commission in the townland of Cloonkeen are intended for use in connection with a scheme of rearrangement of the holdings in that townland and the adjoining townland of Cappagh. Work on the scheme awaits the completion of resumption proceedings in respect of three non-residential holdings. Every effort will be made to complete these proceedings as speedily as possible.
