asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the net cost per ton charged to Irish millers for wheat and the fixed maximum and/or current retail prices for flour, bran and pollard.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cereal Prices.
The price at which wheat is allocated to the millers varies from time to time according to the proportion of native and imported wheat in the millers' grists, and is calculated at such a figure as will enable millers to sell flour at the controlled price.
The prices of flour, bran, and pollard are set out in the following Orders:—
Emergency Powers (Retail Prices of Flour and Wheatenmeal) Order, 1947 (S. R. & O. No. 340 of 1947).
Emergency Powers (Milling and Offals) (Maximum Prices) Order, 1946 (S. R. & O. No. 244 of 1946) as amended by Emergency Powers (Milling and Offals) (Maximum Prices) Order, 1946 (Amendment) Order, 1948 (S.I. No. 92 of 1948).
