Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Westmeath Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission contemplates taking proceedings in the near future for the acquisition of the Talbot Estate, Kilkenny West, County Westmeath.

The lands in question appear to be two holdings of Mr. Robert E. Talbot containing respectively 171a. 0r. 25p. in Kilkenny Abbey and 27a. 0r. 0p. in Kilkenny West.

The Land Commission have not instituted proceedings for the resumption of these lands, but the Deputy's representations have been noted for consideration.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission intends to acquire the three farms (comprising some 300 statute acres) recently purchased from the owner of the Killaninny lands on the Duff estate, Drumrainey, County Westmeath.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Killaninny, Carrickaneha and Oldtown formerly held by John Duff, but the Deputy's representations in the matter have been noted.

asked the Minister for Lands whether proceedings are pending for the acquisition of the lands of Fearmore (Gray and Longworth estates), County Westmeath, belonging to Mrs. Delia Dillon, Claremorris, County Mayo.

There are at present no proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Fearmore, County Westmeath, in the possession of Mrs. Delia Dillon. The Land Commission are having inquiries made regarding them.
