Vol. 113 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Turkeys.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what price the British Ministry of Food has offered for Irish turkeys, and whether he can state the approximate number of birds which will be exported before Christmas.

The price payable by the importing organisation in Great Britain is 3/5½ per lb. dead-weight.

When certain charges are deducted from this price our licensed exporters will receive slightly under 3/3½ per lb. dead-weight. It is estimated that 600,000 turkeys will be available for export this season.
