The total number of all classes of live cattle exported during the first nine months of 1948 was 242,116, as compared with 311,109 in the corresponding period of 1947. This decline was due almost entirely to the drop in store cattle exports, which fell from 253,136 in the first nine months of 1947 to 192,575 in the corresponding period of 1948.
